Muehlbauer has introduced the Tag Module Assembly system (TMA) as a new inline equipment solution for the converting industry. The system uses a “strap attach” process which works with RFID technology since semiconductor companies are now starting to offer their RFID chips pre-assembled on straps to simplify RFID Smart Label manufacturing. The strap manufacturers bear the responsibility for the high accuracy in the flip chip die attach process. Therefore, the attachment process requires no specific knowledge in the field of bare dice handling and processing from wafers.
